Welcome to Caledonian Collective

Our Story

Caledonian Collective (CC) focuses on community engagement and unity by investing in Christians and Christian organizations in Scotland-that's our mission. CC's vision is to support the spread of the Gospel in Scotland, now less than 5% Christian.

Why

The Bible states:

John 17:23 (NIV) “I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

The why, or the purpose, in fostering unity and engagement is to point people to Christ. The Bible clearly states that unity is the way people recognize that God sent Jesus for them because Father and Son love them. Because we have already seen breakthroughs in this area, and because we are praying, we believe this is where God is showing us He is working. We aren’t leading here– simply joining Him.

One way this happens is through creating profiles of both Scottish and American churches. These profiles gather all the most important information enabling a quicker review and kickstart to a relationship. When a church/country decides they would like to consider a partnership, CC facilitates this relationship and serves as the cultural interpreter. Churches can then move towards more long-term commitment. Many times, mission teams through Access Scotland can serve the partner church in Scotland with a team from the partner church in America. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship as each church has much to offer the other.

Other areas we serve include team-building, leadership development training, facilitating conversations, investing in local church plants, facilitating ministry opportunities through groups hosted by Access Scotland, and partnering with Education Fellowship Initiative to provide pastoral care.

Only God can foster true unity; however, this is one of the main goals of CC-- through being available to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Often, we set a path. And then God changes it. At any time, we are ready and willing to change direction to align with God’s will. At the same time, there are plans in place. We build relationships with local churches and aim to demonstrate that secondary issues need not get in the way of the unity of being a Christ-follower.
